inmyriadbits, they're still missing all of yours, so definitely take a look!

For those of you unfamiliar, Jinjurly's podfic archive was a stable podfic hosting site for years starting in 2006, and was especially needed back when media hosting was much more difficult. Sadly, the site was hacked and thousands of files were lost, so the site's been sort of a graveyard of more-dead-than-not links for years. I knew there was an effort to fix things but I hadn't heard anything in so long. But now this, and they're accepting new podfic submissions as well! This is exciting!!!

A very belated post of gifts!

First off, in mid-December I got a lovely podfic of my NIF space opera AU Solar Wind Rising by lattice_frames, which I somehow missed seeing until this week? /o\ Let's blame the Yuletide deadline. Anyway, it's great!

For Yuletide, I got a darling Cherry Magic story about Fujisaki going to a conference, fondly observing the Kurosawa/Adachi show, and making a new friend. It's extremely sweet and exactly what I asked for. Go read i can tell that we are going to be friends by

And lastly, for Yuletide I wrote a fic for Northland for Martha Wells' The Element of Fire:

Every Fayre residence has its unique challenges.

Just a cute bit of fluff, honestly, but I enjoyed revisiting this book and the world of Ile-Rien. Also picturing Thomas as Diego Luna continues to be a great idea.

I received not one but THREE podfics from the wonderful Thimblerig this week!

Day 6: In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts.

1) I've been so enjoying having icons again, but I'm feeling the lack of ones for Temeraire and Nirvana in Fire. Icons, or links to places that have icons, would be super awesome.

2) More podfic of my fic would be so cool. I've got a few already and they make me happy.

3) Uh. Um. Why is this so hard. Oh! For Naomi Novik to spontaneously decide to put her writing timeline for Temeraire up on the internet somewhere, because Crucible of Gold *must* have taken place from late 1810-early 1811 except wtf were Iskierka and Granby doing for 18 months??? (other than getting into trouble, obvs) and other questions that *can* be handwaved in my quest to write this damned Tharkay story, but which are slowly driving my curiosity mad. Fannish attempts have been made, but if we're talking pie-in-the-sky fannish wishlists, I want some word-of-god canon, pls & thx.

amplificathon this year as a newbie podficcer, and recorded some of my stories! (Obscure crossovers are worth more in the contest, and, uh, apparently I've written several. Go me?) She's really very good, and she did my stories. OMG, it was super great, I'm still not over it. ♥

She also recorded her own very excellent The Sincerest Form of Flattery, which is basically a love letter to Sherlock Holmes by way of a five thing fic: scenes from modern procedurals (Due South, Numb3rs, House, Castle, and Psych) that show how they've been influenced by the original.

Also from her writing, she did:
-her (gift to me) Pun in the Sun, a beautifully cracktastic Primeval/CSI:Miami crossover where Horatio gets eaten by a giant crocodile
-OTR, a sweet Sports Night story about Esther and Isaac after the stroke
and
-Three May Keep A Secret, a Mad Men/Man From UNCLE drabble
