Doing a quick SXSW wrapup post because I hate to leave things unfinished (ironic, given the state of my WIP folder):

The Secret of Me: excellent but enraging documentary about intersex genital reassignment surgeries. It's wisely centered on the personal story of Jim Ambrose, but does a great job exploring the history of the practice, most importantly Dr. John Money's abusive and unethical twin studies that started the whole mess. Compassionate, well-made, and timely.

Outerlands: narrative film about Cass (they/them) who's struggling to get by in SF (and also with their alcohol problem), and ends up caring for their co-worker/one-night-stand's daughter - supposedly for a weekend, but then she doesn't get back in touch.... Great performances by Asia Kate Dillon as the lead and Ridley Asha Bateman as the girl, and there's a lot of lovely character moments (the lesbian bank lady and her arc were fantastic), but the movie had that messy feel of a first time writer-director. (for example, they kept repeating these weird sequences of SF street shots with Catholic choral music playing over them that didn't fit in artistically in any way I could figure out? and I am trained in this) Solid, deeply queer, dealing with trauma and addiction in atypical ways, but not something I'd whole-heartedly recommend.

The Ballad of Wallis Island: narrative about musician exes who get conned into coming to play a gig on a remote island for a billionaire (he won the lottery twice) superfan. Sweet, but kinda meh. I did appreciate they didn't fall into the usual trap of 'bitter exes reunite' tropes, especially with the ending, and the quiet portrayal of grief was good, but it didn't really hit for me.

The last day I tried to go see 'Good Boy' - a haunted house horror movie with the twist that it's told from the POV of the family dog - but alas, so did a bunch of other people so I didn't get in. For SXSW, only getting shut out of one movie is actually unprecedented for me, so that was okay! I just left for my RenFaire camping trip earlier.

I also took some time to read The Tomb of Dragons, the newest Goblin Emperor series book about Thara.spoilers )

Dear Yuletide Author,

My favorite time of year has come, and I'm so happy you're writing one of these beloved fandoms for me! If you'd like more information about my tastes, extensive squeeing about the fandoms/characters, and/or specific prompts, please continue below. If that sort of thing doesn't inspire you, please just know that my Do Not Wants are incest, amputation/maiming, main character death, daddy/mommy kink, & ageplay.

Go forth and write with my best wishes!

To anyone wandering by looking to write treats - I am delighted by them and have my AO3 settings set to accept gifts. \o/

spatz: cartoon bunnies on stilts with caption "dramatic character-driven stories... or stilts?" (Bunnies stories or stilts?)
As always, I got so caught up in reccing things that I forgot to crosspost my own Yuletide fic! I wrote Goblin Emperor fic for [personal profile] rosanicus, so it was doubly nice to write for a new acquaintance and for a long-time favorite fandom that I'd never written before!

An Unexpected Letter
Goblin Emperor
gen, 1400 words

“Celehar? What's the matter?” Velhiro craned her neck, but could only see a seal with an unfamiliar animal on it – a cat? no, a fish? some kind of mermaid? “It's not from the Archprelate, is it?”

“No,” Celehar said, cradling the letter warily. “It is from the Emperor.”
spatz: frost covered red leaves on frozen grass (frost leaves)
Happy Yuletide, everyone!

My anonymous author wrote me Debris From Ancient Ruins, a fic for The Mummy about Ardeth during WWII. I was delighted they took up my prompt of Ardeth vs Nazis! Though it's more complex and bittersweet than my flippant prompt, dealing with changing times and the losses of the Medjai.

I haven't read a ton of fic yet, but two of the longer fics I've read turned out to be my favorites:

The Lost of Winter (Goblin Emperor, 20K) - in which a lost mongoose at the Vermilion Opera leads Thara and Tomasaran into a very true-to-canon casefile. With gorgeous writing and character voices, this feels like a little canon novella slipped in right after The Grief of Stones.

a key that winds through secret wards (Nine Worlds, 12K) - in the aftermath of the Emerald Conspiracy, Cliopher has to prove his innocence by magically sharing memories with His Radiancy. Great premise with lots of THEM feels.
spatz: sparrow perched on a branch (Default)

Okay, I've got a handful of miscellaneous recs, and then ten recs for Victoria Goddard's Nine Worlds series, which I'm putting under a cut because at least two of you I know are still reading and the recs are full of spoilers for At the Feet of the Sun. Enjoy!

MISC

The Long Way Home by itsnatalie (DCU, gen)

With Jason tentatively back in the Batfamily, things are going pretty well for him--except for the whole thing with Tim. But who gives a shit about Tim Drake?

But when Jason and Tim are pulled into a frightening race for their lives inside a labyrinth that's out to kill them, they may have to look past their differences just to stay alive. Maybe along the way, they'll discover they aren't as different as they thought, and family comes in many different forms.

Spectacular in every aspect: the horror, the action, the hurt/comfort, the brotherly devotion underlying their swarm of issues, and the ending. I really can't rec this one highly enough.

Late Night, North Station by raitala (Untamed, Wangxian)

Lan Zhan finds A-Yuan lost in the railway station. He maybe finds more than he bargained for. Some mornings you leave for the office and come back with a son (and possibly a husband too).

Sooooo sweet, with a lovely autistic LWJ POV. The sequel is still a WIP but is great so far.

Beginning at the End by WerewolvesAreReal (Temeraire, Granby/Little)

In many ways it seems that John's life revolves around William Laurence.

Lovely character study trilogy with Granby sorting out his unrequited thing for Laurence and his ongoing thing with Little.

thou, who art victory and law by The_Apocryphal_One (Goblin Emperor, Csethiro/Maia)

He couldn’t help his unintelligence, any more than she could help her father. And he was kind. She should try to remember that.

(Or: Csethiro Ceredin goes into her betrothal to Emperor Edrehasivar VII with assumptions, and has every one of them challenged.)

Great Csethiro POV as she works through her pride and preconceptions.

plus ten Nine Worlds fics (spoilers!) )

spatz: Rey sihouetted against the sky and a piece of Death Star wreckage (SW Rey Death Star wreckage)
June was full of Neil Gaiman fandoms: first I rewatched Good Omens S1 (S2 on Friday!!!) and then plowed through my backlog of fic to read, and then I watched The Sandman. So there's six Good Omens recs, two Sandman recs, and one lone but lovely Goblin Emperor rec.

GOOD OMENS

Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nnm / @mouseonamoose
Amazing story about Crowley going to therapy, from his therapist's POV. The author clearly knows their stuff and Aubrey is a vivid character in her own right with her own journey to go on. This one's been recced all over, but it really is that good.

dearly departed by attheborder / @areyougonnabe
In which Crowley gets discorporated and many shenanigans ensue - the London occultist underworld, lust-demons, Hell bureaucracy, Aziraphale vs loopholes, fake marriage, and of course, a happy ending. Slightly morbid at times but a fun hilarious romp.

Temptation by out_there / @out-there-tmblr
Lovely look at Crowley tempting Christ (as he mentions to Aziraphale), and the lasting effect it has on him.

the deft, sweet gesture of your hand by deadgreeks / @mortuarybees
Post-S1, Crowley turns up injured at the bookshop and Aziraphale takes care of him. Such a tender romance, such warm h/c. Poetry! Knitting! Pining! Ferociously protective Aziraphale!

Hell to Pay by battle_cat / @fuckyeahisawthat
"In the midst of the Great Fire of London, Crowley does an emergency good deed too undemonic for Hell to ignore." Wistful h/c.

Lead me to the banquet hall by obstinatrix & wishwellingtons
In which Crowley doesn't eat around Aziraphale because he has too many Feelings about it - and then Aziraphale finds out. Creative, delightful, hot, and well-characterized!

You can also find my older Good Omens recs on Pinboard!

SANDMAN

Spite (Is As Good A Reason As Any) by Blue_Sunshine
In which Hob doesn't just build an inn and pine after 1989, but hires Johanna Constantine to help him track down Dream. Great AU in many directions, and the Hob-Johanna friendship is a complete scene-stealing delight. (If you like them as much as I did, there's another WIP that just finished: Totus Mundus Agit Histrionem, which kicks off with Johanna rescuing Hob from a demonic possession.)

Passing the Time by Anonymous
Dream passes time in the fishbowl by quietly terrorizing his guards. (The author tagged this 'Dream is petty and terrifying' and I couldn't agree more.) Viciously funny but also a little heartbreaking.

GOBLIN EMPEROR

Between the Grave and the Well by Sphragis
"In which Iäna Pel-Thenhior catches a fever and Thara Celehar catches feelings." Gorgeous hurt/comfort-y get-together that really captures the characters and the world.

spatz: frost covered red leaves on frozen grass (frost leaves)

MY GIFTS

An embarrassment of riches this year!

step by step (planet by planet) [Ethan of Athos] - a Yuletide Madness treat! Charming little bit of pining with Ethan being oblivious, set in the gap between Kline Station and returning to Athos. (Ethan/Terrence)

On the Threshold [Biggles] - delightful AU where an injured von Stalhein shows up on Biggles’s doorstep, and Biggles is very Biggles about it. I am extremely for the ‘bad guy goes to his honorable enemy for help (and is not disappointed)’ trope, and this one was executed perfectly. (Biggles/von Stalhein)

The Arrangement [Biggles] - in which von Stalhein ventures out into a storm to get Biggles medicine. Lovely h/c. (Biggles/von Stalhein)

RECS

I tend to go by fandoms when I binge Yuletide, and also I slept until 1 (I think I’m still run down from my horrible cold last week, and this was my first day with no work and no family obligations), so it’s just The Goblin Emperor/Witness for the Dead fic today.

it gets okay to praise the day - beautiful tag to The Grief of Stones, with some much-needed comfort and healing for Thara, and some clever resolution of a few plot threads, and a brief and lovely appearance by Maia. (Thara/Iana)

dear fellow traveler - nifty story that starts with an academic piece about a tradition of the emperor crossing the Wisdom Bridge, and then increasingly closer POVs peeling back to the truth of how it started. A great look at the future of Maia’s reign from several vantages. (mostly gen, background Csethiro/Maia)

Need To Know - in which Csethiro tracks down Maia after the assassination attempt, with all of her fierce cleverness at work. Great POV for her. (Csethiro/Maia)

Mostly Star Wars this month, again, with my favorites above the cut! (all Codywan unless otherwise marked) The rest are roughly sorted by diminishing levels of plot and increasing levels of porn because it amused me - plus a handful of recs from other fandoms at the end (The Goblin Emperor, Murderbot, Knives Out, and 9-1-1).

STAR WARS

an ice cream-covered screaming hyperactive thought by @adiduck

Cody is fairly certain he is not going to get his security deposit back.

There are three new stains on his carpet, and a patch by the door has been roughed up enough Cody’s pretty sure the weave’s come loose. The door itself has scratches in the paint all the way up to the door knob, and the curtains covering the windows on either side of the door are shredded, showing the metal grating over the transparisteel on the street side. The caf machine, the dish rack, and the soap dispenser are all in a collapsed and soapy heap on the floor. Cody’d managed through reflexes honed by war to save his favorite caf mug, but had sadly lost two of his plates and a bowl before he’d managed to wrap the perpetrator in three towels and shove the whole bundle up against a shoulder.

The towel bundle, very put out by this turn of events, is yelling.

Post-war AU in which Cody rescues a tooka kitten and then Obi-Wan rescues him from the kitten in turn. Extraordinarily cute, but also a beautifully written look at Cody trying to navigate civilian life and friendship (and maybe more) with Obi-Wan.

sanguine by @glimmerglanger

Everyone said synth was just like real blood.

The Healers in the Temple had said so from the time Obi-Wan became aware that his dietary requirements did not align with those of his crèchemates. That realization had coincided neatly with an awareness of the fact that, perhaps, his crèchemates met his dietary requirements.

OR, the one where Obi-Wan faces a reckoning about himself and his relationship with blood while in the middle of a war.

aka a canon AU with vampire Obi-Wan Kenobi detailing the events of the Clone Wars. I had such a great time reading this series over the spring: it starts off with shorter h/c-centric stories about Obi-Wan and his clones trying their best to take care of each other, and then starts getting plotty and increasingly AU around the Zygerria arc. Long, satisfying angst-with-a-happy-ending that deals with a lot of crunchy trauma and bigotry and pining and grief along the way.

Recollection by @elwenyere

CC-2224 had been compromised.

That had been the assessment delivered by Lieutenant Piett, the Imperial officer who met the returning Purge Troopers in the landing bay, and CC-2224 had accepted the new parameters and applied them to his current situation. He had been compromised in the field, and that was why his heart rate was tachycardic, his vision was blurred, and he was currently being dragged down the hall by the armpits, his wrists cuffed behind his back so that every step wrenched against his shoulders.

Or, Eternal Sunshine of the Reconditioned Mind

Trippy and beautiful and tender, with a very unique look at Cody’s memories of the war and Obi-Wan. (and don’t worry, a happy ending! As happy as post-Order 66 gets, anyway.)

Strangers Like Me by K_R_Closson (mostly gen, Obi-Wan/Jango)

When Obi-Wan chose to fight for the Young, he left behind the only life he'd ever known, and the only dream he had ever wanted. On Melida/Daan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Child of No Clan, finds purpose and finds family, and begins a journey which will change the shape of his life and the galaxy in ways he'll never fully understand.

Or, the one where Obi-Wan is adopted by True Mandalorians off Melida/Daan. Featuring: teenage shenanigans, pet strill, Force teleportation, first love, and found family.

Fantastic Jedi Apprentice-era AU that does a great job negotiating Obi-Wan’s trauma and balancing his identity between his old family and his new one.

More fic under the cut!

Star Wars, Goblin Emperor, Murderbot, Knives Out, 9-1-1 )

spatz: Wei Wuxian looking through a broken window with his finger to his lips (Untamed WWX shhh)

I went back to the top-five format this month since my fic reading was curtailed by, you know, the massive winter storm in Texas knocking my power out, and suchlike. Four recs for The Untamed, and one for The Goblin Emperor!

my age has never made me wise by @idrilka (Untamed, Wangxian)

“We hear that His Excellency might be married by summer’s end,” the  merchant’s wife says and Wei Wuxian freezes, his heart in his throat. “The Gusu Lan sect has been buying enough red silk and brocade that the merchants in Caiyi can’t satisfy the demand.”

He feels himself grow brittle inside, like a flick of a finger to his temple might make him shatter. His ears are ringing.

“Who’s the lucky bride?” he asks despite himself. His tongue sticks to the roof of his mouth.

This one has been recced EVERYWHERE and rightly so! Absolutely pitch-perfect, from Wei Wuxian having travel adventures and pining like a whole forest of dumbassery, to their reunion and (obviously, to everyone but WWX) marriage.

heartkeeper by @postingpebbles (Untamed, Wangxian)

In Gusu, there is a story about the most beautiful man in the world—and the wager he gives to anyone who wants to take his hand in marriage.

Being from Yunmeng, however, Wei Wuxian doesn't hear a word about this story until his aimless wandering brings him to the outskirts of Caiyi Town.

(in which there is wei wuxian, a rabbit, and a secret.)

Based off that Tumblr post, this is lovely and soft and pure fairytale romance.

kick the darkness ‘til it bleeds daylight by tardigradeschool & AlfAlfAlfAlfAlf (Untamed, Wangxian)

The young man blinks at him. Wei Yuan doesn’t spend much time staring at his own face in the mirror, but he knows his reflection well enough; the dark eyes, the straight nose, the round face that comes to a pointed chin. This boy could be his exact double.

“Who are you?” the Lan boy facing him asks, tilting his head. He’s got a hand on his sword, but he hasn’t drawn it yet. There’s a faint frown on his face. “Some kind of face-stealing spirit? A demon?”

“Pretty rude to go around calling people demons,” Wei Yuan protests.
--

Or, Wei Wuxian, presumed dead by the cultivation world, raises one Wen twin. Lan Wangji, presumed dead by Wei Wuxian, raises the other. A Parent Trap AU.

This Parent Trap AU is officially twin approved! *laughs* It’s only barely a PT AU in the twins-switching-places sense, but it IS a fantastic canon-divergence with TWO A-Yuans to love in entirely different ways, and a lot of thoughtful and original character arcs and plot. (also: twin shenanigans)

Raise It Up, Roll the Dice by @ghostysword (Untamed/TCGF, Wangxian)

“What prize do you desire?” the croupier asks, bone dice clacking in their black cup.

“The body and soul of Wei Wuxian.”

In the gambling house of the ghost king Crimson Rain Sought Flower, you can win any treasure--if you’re desperate enough, if you’re willing to risk enough, if you’re lucky enough. After six years of searching for any trace of Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji is desperate enough to come to Hua Cheng’s gambling table, and he’s ready to pay any price. Luck has rarely been on his side, but he’ll need it tonight.

You don’t need to know TGCF to read this, and this fic does not spoil any TGCF plot points (just a bit of worldbuilding).

I know just enough about TGCF to enjoy both sides of this, but it’s also just a really great look at Lan Wangji’s devotion and grief and love.

A Small Chance of Happiness by @sassysnowperson (Goblin Emperor, gen)

"You need our marriage," Vedero Drazhin said to Maia one spring night when they were pressed together on the rooftop, using Vedero's telescope to examine a comet that was visiting their night sky.

Quiet and pragmatic, but absolutely full of love.

spatz: sparrow perched on a branch (Default)

Sliding in not-quite-late with these! The Untamed recs are first since I think that’s what most of ya’ll are around for, then Yuletide & related small fandoms and some random anime fandoms under the cut.

THE UNTAMED

With Absolute Splendor by Lise / @veliseraptor - I’ve seen this recced all over the place, and for good reason! Absolutely my favorite Jiang Cheng POV, as he insists that Wangxian get married at Lotus Pier then repeatedly fails to get out of his own way as he rebuilds a relationship with Wei Wuxian. His complicated layers of trauma and grief and anger are so well-written, and he’s trying so hard <3

make this chaos count by devotedbones - Wei Wuxian returns to Cloud Recesses after his travels and immediately gets in a fight with some assholes talking shit about Lan Zhan. Sounds a bit cracky, but it’s not, and Wei Wuxian’s voice is so compelling - mischievous and longing and righteous, with his belief in LWJ just enough to counterbalance his belief that he’s unwanted.

Keep the Customer Satisfied by @whenas-in-silks/WhenasInSilks - modern AU where Meng Yao deploys his Customer Service Smile and sneakiness in an actual customer service job, and Lan Xichen just keeps breaking his computer for some reason. (+ excellent comic relief from frenemy/coworker Xue Yang, and The Hat)

combat baby by dustyloves/@theo-decker - Buffy fusion, in which Lan Zhan is called as Slayer after Wei Ying’s death - but Wei Ying comes back. I was surprised by how much I liked this, since normally I am reflexively cranky when the Slayer gets AU’d to being male, but something about Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan’s trauma and anger and the weight of expectations really worked for me. And also the kinky sex. :D

The One-Body Problem by metiskit - in which Jingyi accidentally gets possessed by the Yiling Patriarch - who turns out to be a really nice guy? Hilarious, but with Wei Wuxian’s deep well of Issues as a compassionate counterpoint. Starts stronger than it finishes, imo, but absolutely worth reading.

YULETIDE & ADJACENT

I had a very quiet Yuletide this year, because I did my semi-annual fandom thing where I read all the YT fic for a fandom and then went and caught up on the last six months of fic that I'd missed. So I basically just binge-read Queen's Thief, The Goblin Emperor, and Nirvana in Fire, with side trips in anime fandoms that I've never even seen the canon for, because why not end 2020 on the appropriate 'fuck it' note.

Queen's Thief, NIF, Goblin Emperor, Naruto, BNHA )

Again, pretty much entirely The Untamed, plus one lovely WIP for The Goblin Emperor that finally finished up. Also like my May set, I read and loved too many things (despite going back to work), so I’m doing a top five and then the rest under the cut.

Wearing Down Every Bone by CSHfic & VSfic

“Sizhui, tell me,” Wei Wuxian says. “Does this feel... familiar to you?”

or, After running into Lan Zhan on a night hunt, Wei Wuxian is cursed to live the same day over and over and over.

In which Wei Wuxian runs into Lan Wangji and the juniors on a night hunt, and gets cursed to repeat the day. Time loop fic, casefile/curse fic, post-canon romance, AND a haunting ghost story, intertwined exquisitely. And just beautifully written, I enjoyed every second of it. Highly, highly recommended.

The Fire Lapping Up the Creek by notevenyou

Wei Wuxian travels to Lanling for his nephew’s one-month celebration alone, without Wen Ning.

Lan Wangji lives with the consequences.

In which Wei Wuxian is badly injured and presumed dead at Qiongqi Way and Lan Wangji goes to the Burial Mounds. I described this to a friend as ‘very hurt, very comfort’ and I stand by that. It’s eventually a fix-it and a happy ending, but there’s a lot of great emotional and physical agony along the way. Loved it.

I hope that you will come and meet me by feyburner

The second time Lan Zhan said Wei Ying, come back, Wei Wuxian did.

Excellent slow-build working-out-their-issues get-together. I’m trying to think of something pithy to say about it, but it’s just a lot of great character work and unfurling intimacy, in the newfound peace after the end of canon.

this rivers runs to you by sundiscus

In which Wei Wuxian is a curse worker secretly searching for a lost dragon, Lan Wangji is his new assistant, and the two things may not be entirely unrelated.

Wonderful modern AU with magic - I loved the worldbuilding for how the war and the cultivation world work in a modern setting (plus the dragons), the cursebreaking work, and also the truckload of feelings this fic dumped directly onto my heart. Also, DRAGONS.

SanRen by Kyogre/@kyogre-blue

Leaving YunmengJiang in an effort to curb the tensions in the Jiang family, Wei WuXian becomes a rogue cultivator.

Even without the support of a sect, he is a rare genius whose name will become known across the cultivation world and whose techniques will influence the course of a war.

However, what influences his own fate is a chance meeting that becomes the first step toward love.

Great canon-divergence long read with tons of action and pining. Distinctly book-canon in style and content, but without any of the things that I usually dislike about that.

Starting with the THREE awesome stories I received this year!!!

(Silver in the Wood) Butterflies - a gorgeous Henry POV set post-canon, featuring strong feelings about stories (of course) and some sweet, playful Tobias/Henry.

(Silver in the Wood) Conversations on Trains and Libraries - in which Tobias is rusty at life outside the woods as well as human connections, but he’s trying. <3

(Banlieue 13) Dépaysement - anyone who has ever mentioned parkour within hearing range of me will know how much I love these ridiculous, gay af action movies, and this is a FANTASTIC post-canon story with Damien and Leïto working together and (naturally) falling in love. Worldbuilding! Banter *and* unspoken understanding! Trust and teamwork! PLUS the infamous undercover butt-window dress!!! I request this fandom every Yuletide, and I was SO DELIGHTED to get this as a treat. So delighted, that I’m rather suspicious this person knows me....

And continuing in fandom alphabetical order:

(Band Sinister) Part Per Cross - Corvin has a much better idea for what to do with virgins than sacrifice them. aka post-canon polyamory smut!

(Charm of Magpies - Jackdaw) anonymous and sweet - Perfect little coda for Jonah and Ben, domestic and a little magical and very them.

(Crown Duel) sweet basil and ivy - neat pair of outside POVs on Vidanric and Meliara, first from Savona being asked to help Mel at court, and then from the Hill Folk post-canon.

(Goblin Emperor) Light A Mourner’s Candle - in which Maia finally gets a chaplain, and it’s very wrenching but cathartic.

(Sky High) Smoke Signals - totally cute and surprisingly plotty AU where Warren doesn’t go to Sky High, but starts doing vigilante stuff on his own. Identity porn! Faily teenage romance! Arson!

Mostly Good Omens again this month, with one lone rec for The Goblin Emperor!

Aught That Can Be Named by phoenixflight (The Goblin Emperor, Csethiro/Maia, Csevet/Maia)

Maia really didn’t mean to say someone else’s name in bed with his wife.

An excellent extrapolation from the idea that Csethiro definitely, definitely owns a strap-on. The ‘accidental confession’ trope isn’t one that usually works for me, due to secondhand embarrassment issues, but this one was played perfectly. And hotly.

Mr. Fell Attempts to Buy a Book from Mr. Bennet by @amarguerite

Mrs. Bennet attempts to husband hunt. Aziraphale attempts to buy a book. No one gets what they want.

*dies laughing*

You, Soft and Only by thehoyden

He hadn’t expected a sudden lapful of angel.

“Very sorry about this,” Aziraphale said, and kissed him.

An exceedingly fine specimen of Crowley/Aziraphale fake-out makeouts over the millenia, with that distinct mix of totally-married-yet-pining-terribly that I love about this pairing.

ask and ye shall receive by ariaste

Smite me, Crowley thinks one day, about three or four days into the Beginning of the World. He feels rather daring about it, especially when God doesn’t answer. Puts a bit of a swagger in his slither.

God’s sense of humor is terrible, but on the other hand I adore terrible puns and Crowley suffering, so.

The Soho Bookshop Job by Poetry (Good Omens/Leverage)

Crowley asks Leverage to stop the shady corporation trying to buy out Aziraphale’s bookshop. He gets rather more than he bargained for.

SO much fun tossing the Leverage team into this universe, with some fun speculation about the fallout from the not-pocalypse.

His Banner Over Me by pineapplecrushface

Three of Aziraphale’s excellent ideas, and how Crowley (very casually) obliges him, as a friend does.

Some choice goddamn Crowley pining.

I have watched this so many times already, cannot recommend highly enough! It’s not the only one going around to this specific cover of the song, so I almost skipped watching it due to thinking I’d seen it before, but I love the way purplefringe constructed the vid around the duet, and just such good editing in general.
