Hmm, pretty blue color.

Also, does anyone have fic recs for Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman? I just finished the book, and *really* want more. I read Forgotten Girl some time back, which is wonderful. Any help?

*wistful* If you do get any recs, be a dear and tell me. I've been looking for decent stories in this fandom for ages, and still haven't found any.

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-05-23 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still looking. I put out a request on [livejournal.com profile] the_rec_room, so we'll see how that goes. I did find a few okay crossovers with Good Omens here (http://thewritegirls.populli.net/afrai/nw.html)., but Google's giving me nothing else.

*kicks fandom* Write more!

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-05-23 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck with that. Tell me if you ever get a reply or something, will ya?

*sniffles* As far as I can tell, there is no fandom. There's not even enough people to make a small tiny fandom.

I did get a few recs here (http://www.livejournal.com/community/the_rec_room/51537.html).

Isn't it terrible? I mean, this is the kind of world that people should be leaping to write about. *shakes head* I don't understand.

And there's this one (http://www.livejournal.com/users/daegaer/183594.html), a PotC/Neverwhere crossover. Kinda fun.

Yayness! A lot of those are really good (not that I've gotten to them all yet, though. But I will! *eg*)

*hides* Tell me I should ask the guy I like (the book reading one) out on a date, please. All of my friends are telling me I should - including the one who likes/liked him and the one who freaks out at the idea of anyonedating him because he's her baby cousin - but I cannot get up the courage to do so. A Gryffindor I am not.

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-05-30 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ask him! Ask him! It's really not as hard as you think. My one and only date resulted from me getting fed up waiting for him to ask, so I just went ahead with it. You've got nothing to lose, everything to go right, all your friends behind you, and a cultural Hollywood-fed trend of happy endings to help you along ;)

*cough* Don't forget to let me know how it goes... *crosses fingers*

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-05-31 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
*winces* Ah, if only I didn't have issues with rejection. But my friends all seem to think he'd go with me if I asked him - but I'll ask after I come back from Texas, not before. Gods know it'd take a while to get my courage up that far, anyway.

Don't worry, I will!

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-05-31 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
*pats Jenny* Well, I agree with your friends. Look at it this way: if he's silly enough to turn down a girl like you, would you really want him anyway? I suspect the matter will never come under question, though ;)

Good!

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-05-31 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
*groans* See, I know that in theory, but if I try to apply it in reality I just kinda wince and get this huge pit in my stomach. God, I've liked him for almost 3 years now. *rolls eyes* Although I refused to admit it to anyone until a few months ago and didn't admit it to anyone in RL until last Thursday, when I was lobster!Jenny and going on 48 hours with no sleep. And ... *whimpers* I cannot ask him because what if he says no? I'll be all gah and then we probably won't even talk about books anymore and gah.

I'm going to become a nun. Or something like that, anyway. Oh yessss, I am.

*pokes* You need to get on IM, missy. It's been a horribly long time since I've talked to you there and I want you to distract me. *nods* We still haven't finished our rec session, y'know.

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-06-02 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, *honey*. You're so silly! I have no vast experience, so all I can say is be brave, and have more faith in yourself. Also, if you can, try to get some quiet intelligence from the friend whose cousin he is, or someone, if it will help you be more confident. He may be just as neurotic as you, and too nervous about asking to go ahead and do it ;)

Hah! You'd never last without the Internet. Or with the whole no sex thing (that would include smut, yes? *wicked grin*)

I shall! I've been so busy lately, and I went a whole week without internet: the three days of finals, and the rest of that week. Plus I've actually been doing social things this summer-- quite an unusual turn of events, believe me! But I'll try to get on. I'll get on tonight, as long as you don't keep me up too late (I'm totally wiped from swimming) ;)

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-06-02 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
*sheepish* But ... But... I am silly, and I tend to lack confidence in myself, and I cannot possibly ask him out. Nope. No way. Not happening. (Until I see him, start cackling with my best friend, and have to explain *why* I'm blushing. Gah.) I'm kinda (desperately) hoping that by the time I get back from vacation - which, for the record, it so sucks that you're so far away from SPI - the entire thing will be over with. Hopefully. Maybe.

Damn, you're right. I would die without the net and my daily smut fix, thank you very much. Can I join the circus instead?

Gah! An entire week without the internet would probably kill me. But social things are always good - I've been doing bunches of stuff, too. I think I've had 4 sleepovers this past week, 2 shopping trips, a yard sale with my friends, and lots other stuff. Volunteering at the library bunches.

*crosses fingers* Hopefully I'll talk to you tonight, and if not, sometime before the 7th.

Yeah, it sucks that South Padre is so far off. But I can smack you via AIM until you get some sense, eh? ;) And what do you mean, you hope the thing will be over when you come back? The crush, or the suspense?

Oooh, circus could be fun. You could find some bendy acrobat and seduce him.... *snickers*

FOUR sleepovers? Goodness, how many Pixie Stix did you consume to manage that? I've been shopping, too, which is odd for me, but I got a bunch of those spaghetti strap tops in pretty colors for $10 each (*love* Memorial Day sales), the most amazingly comfy pants in the world (found in the guy section of Gap), and some shorts. Man, I need to *talk* to you! Where are you on AIM?

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-06-02 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Yeah, it really does. But Daddy is bringing an extra laptop so I can get on AIM, so all is not lost. You can yell at me from there. And the crush, NOT the suspense. I want it overand done with.

Yes! Ah, the brilliance of bendy acrobats.

Well, her dad is having major surgery and she's staying here until he can go home, the poor dear. So lots of sleepovers, although right now she's reading SG-1 fic and I'm, well, chatting with you. But LOTS of pixie sticks are involved, along with, "Tell Anthony you LIKE him, Jenny! NOW!" (From the girl who had a crush on him, no less. ) And my shopping has consisted of books and stones - amethysts, rose quartz, and my ridiculous summer books. (And these really adorable shirts, 'cause they were... 3 for 10 dollars or something like that.)
