Wishes meme
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. A "Constitution/US OTP" icon. Because I'm all about the subtext, baby ;) And my government teacher is turning me into a government geek.
2. The West Wing recs. I'm new to the fandom, and I'm dying for good Josh, Josh/Donna, Josh&Zoey (it was the adorable chili scene), CJ, banter, plottiness, depth, and warmth, but I don't know where to look! I want the character voices to be so clear they make my mental ears bleed. (Ew.)
3. A cider recipe. I am hooked, and want to make some.
4. Go to www.thehungersite.com, and click on the button. Now scroll, down, and repeat the process with the other buttons. Do this every day you are online. It makes the world a little better, quietly and patiently.
5. Sleep. I want to start going to bed before midnight again. I don't know how ya'll can help, unless you can speed up time or write my college applications for me.
6. A letter. Write me a letter on notebook paper or birch bark or vellum, in funny ink or crayon, in your worst handwriting or in mirror writing, upside-down or diagonal or tangential. Write to me not about what happened today, but about something you saw or thought that is *you*-ish. Email me at double_trouble_13@hotmail.com if you want my address. I'd like to write you back.
7. I'd love some backup on the refusing-to-wear-makeup-except-to-dances stance that I have.
8. Some assistance in my long-plotted fic rec site. That, or a crash course in HTML.
9. If there are any lurkers hanging around my journal, speak! I think there's some way to see who's been visiting, but I have no clue how.
10. An old-fashioned, musty edition of Treasure Island or Swiss Family Robinson. I have a thing for old books, their smell, and unalloyed fun.
There's a central archive of posts here, if you're in Christmas-elf mood.

Josh/Donna.
THE most FAMOUS Josh/Donna in the F'ing world, y'know. And! They do OTHER STORIES. WITH AMAZING ORIGINAL CHARACTERS! MOLLY from the actual SHOW is (begrudgingly) attributed to this pair of writers.

I have -- well, not an OLD fashioned edition, but a double bound Illustrated Classics of those two.
Is that why you thought of it. Do you have it also?
If you don't, well...I got it when I was nine. Do you want it? It has been in the attic for three years. It oughta smell o' somethin'.
I love doing HTML. Sign me up for the site.

Hi! I'm not sure if I count as a proper lurker, since you can find me on your friends list, but... *waves*
I'm not sure how I found you, but I suspect it was fannish.
Also, Swiss Family Robinson! I loved that book. Best ever 'stuck on desert island' book that I've read.
