spatz: Wonder Woman using her bracelets, caption "Heroine Addict" (Wondy is fiercer than you)

attack of the plot bunnies & Nikita S1

Stories other people should write for me:

1) a White Collar version of Chicago's Most Wanted wherein Neal... or no, wait. Wherein Peter gets amnesia while undercover and runs off to be a criminal mastermind! I want this like burning, people.

2) indulgent NCIS LA AU where Hetty adopted Callen as a child, and he turned out basically the same but much more competent.

3) Nikita and Phil Coulson are locked in a cell together and have to escape. Much dryly sarcastic ass-kicking ensues. (PROOF that this would be fucking awesome)

Which reminds me!

Okay, I *have* to stop underestimating this show. It's all "la la, Alex is being a stupid teenager about a boy, everyone sucks worse than Sydney Bristow at being a stealthy double agent, look at me I'm a show on the CW" and then BAM! Jaden ends up dead, Percy was playing them the whole fucking time, Alex does shockingly ruthless things at the drop of a hat, and Amanda kills Alex dead. (I swear, Lindsey and I spent the whole 25 seconds before Alex breathed again going, "Did they really...? They wouldn't...?" and I had seen spoiler pictures of Alex from S2. This show is just that good about killing off characters with gleeful abandon.)

I totally called Nikita killing Alex's father. Go me!

Ryan Fletcher's actor looks like a skin-shrunken version of Tom Cruise, and simply bores me every time he's on screen. I am cool with the prospect of Nikita breaking him out of prison, though - just finished Prison Break, I'm going into Machiavellian escape-plot withdrawal. *g*

Speaking of which: Nikita and Phil Coulson break out a cell together. It bears repeating! PLEASE SOMEONE WRITE THIS FOR ME OMG.

Shane West, I ♥ you for no logical reason, but you are a much better actor when not scowling. Which is mostly when you are around Maggie Q. Therefore, I approve of this paradigm shift! And not at all because I want more smoking hot wall and/or post-mission makeouts, nooooo.... I really adore Michael/Nikita, though - I am weak for pining canon het to begin with, but there's something about the way they are vulnerable to each other that really gets to me, the way they couldn't help it at first, and then *chose* it. ♥

I haven't really talked about Alex much, but HOMG THAT GIRL. I feel like I don't have a great grasp on her, because she keeps pulling the rug out from under our feet and doing something surprising and kickass and doing her nesting-dolls impression and being completely crazy in a distinctly different style than Nikita's crazy. I love how she rebels against being under control, even from someone who loves her; I love her ruthless pragmatism all mixed up with shining passion for life and solid steel determination; I even love her stupid teenage hormones for being so human. I look forward to epic gen!pining between Alex and Nikita, and being surprised some more by Alex's twisty brain.

ETA: I totally forgot to mention FBI Director Uriel! That was hilarious. (This is my brain; this is my brain on IMDB....)

HOPES FOR SEASON TWO:

This season is going to be even more Alias-meets-Pretender, isn't it? I approve!

I'm looking forward to Amanda running Division so very much, because:
1) more Melinda Clarke
2) new and improved mind games
3) a heightened level of villainy
4) MORE MELINDA CLARKE
I am very curious about her relationship with Alex - was she serious when she released her? Or just playing a very deep game? Ugh, ambiguity, I love it. Percy redeemed himself as a worthy opponent by the end of S1, but Amanda is so much more enigmatic and layered and therefore more scary. And played by Melinda Clarke - did I mention that yet? Maybe a few times?

Also interested to see where Birkhoff goes - he's grown on me, the little creep. (forgot to mention, we were *so* amused that he's played by Pyro back in the pilot. X-Men fandom, man, it's everywhere.) It appears some of Michael's sense of right rubbed off on him, and he does have a nice turn of phrase (his horcruxes crack made me sporfle, as did "then I can cross my fingers behind my back"). I would like more backstory for him! The "Nerd" epithet served its purpose at giving a sense of ex-friendship, powered mostly by his good chemistry with Maggie Q and Shane West.

More flashbacks in general, in fact, would be good! Nikita & Alex especially, with old-school Nikita & Michael, please.

Now I just have to find time to sit down with [livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits and catch up on the newest four eps. *sigh* Hopefully by Friday, so I can watch Nikita and Fringe live. Back-to-back kickass ladies! \o/!
