Yuletide!
Dear Yuletide Author!
I am super excited about participating in Yuletide for the first time, so please pardon the invitable excess of exclamation points in this post! Hopefully, I covered the essential things in my submitted request, but I thought of a few random things in case you wander this way.
I'm generally very open to different styles of writing and genres. Although I have a slight preference for humor, I'm definitely a fan of dark content as well, particularly with the fandoms I picked. (A Study in Emerald and Brick don't exactly lend themselves to light-hearted!) I enjoy clever dialogue, particularly the banter subset, and crave really good character voices. I love worldbuilding about as much as I love interesting characters, and all three of my fandoms have (in my opinion) a lot of potential for looking at the interplay between those two things.
I have a pretty equal enjoyment of gen, slash, and het - I'm unusually OTP about Damien/Leito in B13 and I can't imagine many people made it out of those movies without agreeing! But as long as they're friends and partners, I'm also good with gen. If you feel like writing mature content, I have very few things I don't like. Incest is pretty much my only hardcore dislike, and some of the more obscure kinks make me go "huh?", but I'll read and enjoy just about anything as long as it feels natural to the character. Like, ASIE Watson probably wouldn't be a hentai fan, but I could see him being into knifeplay. That sort of thing.
If you're interested in looking at more concrete examples of my taste, I have a Delicious account and a rarely-used recs tag. I'm in the middle of adding links from my older fandoms to Delicious, so the overall tag listing will probably be of more use to you than the recent activity.
Anyway, I'm going to shut up now before I overload you. And feel free to ignore most or all of this if you have a great idea, because I also love surprises ;)
