HP7 again

I forgot to talk about Fred's death in my last post, perhaps because I was too traumatized - having only one of the twins die was on my list of "Please JKR, don't!" beforehand. But [livejournal.com profile] merryish has made it all better, so I can feel better about the twin!pain.

I didn't talk about how much I loved Ron, Hermione, and the Ron/Hermione in the book. GROSS OVERSIGHT. I wasn't sure if they would be a stable pair in actuality, but they really settled into an adorably snarky dynamic, and their first kiss was perfect. OMG, and how much did I love Ron's "It's one of the Five Laws of Transfiguration" line - he always *was* listening to her, oh heart - or his snark about Peeves' post-battle song. I loved how Ron came back and Harry's line about that, how all three of them grew up and grew together and they're going to be friends forever. Gen OT3!

Loved Lee Jordan and the radio show. Loved the Quibbler stepping up, and completely understood about his betrayal, which kinda just made me love Luna more in comparison.

I'm still bitter about Remus & Tonks, but it was a good book, and the fanfic will be fantastic (and I love AUs, so no problems there).

Yep, so happy the way this heavily focused on the trio...as a trio. And I had to bite my tongue to not squeal out loud in public over the Ron/Hermione which I've been waiting for since she told Ron there was something on his nose.

It's funny, I've never been OTP about R/Hr, because I suspected they'd be unstable, but I have been won over. They were adorable and argumentative and good friends and treated each other like equals (a good side effect of not being at school and in Hermione's environment), and I want to pinch their cheeks and get them an anniversary present.

I had the same reaction to Fred (and, as Slod pointed out, nice thing to read on your birthday!) and Merry made me feel better too. :D

I really wanted to find Lindsey and hug her, but she was still asleep, darn her. Thank goodness for Merry.

I have - never been a R/Hr fan, and you know this, but I really liked them in this book. I wish they had come across like this in the other books - they were adorable, and I loved how they treated each other!
