IMDB surfing

At this hour in the morning, one would have expected me to have 1) finished my paper or 2) gone to bed. But no, I go on IMDB and look up past Doctor Who actors.

This activity, however puerile, did inform me that Tom Baker, who played the 4th Doctor with the scarf that everyone (apparently) knows best, was Puddleglum in the BBC's The Silver Chair. *squee* OMG, he was fantastic in that movie! Damnit, I do not need to go searching for 40-year-old television seasons, I really don't....

Ha, I loved that guy! No wonder Baker's my fav of the old Whos. Isn't imdb the best procrastination tool ever? Paper, what paper?

Biology paper. After I finish it, I get to move on to my *other* paper, which is at least fun. The hero cycle as seen in The Incredible *g*

Make that The Incredibles. Oy, why don't they have a comment edit function.

The hero cycle in The Incredibles? That is too awesome.

Yeah, it actually turned out kinda fun, though the writing was unpretty due to the rush job. I babbled about dual identities and cyclical journeys and Batman, so all in all a geeky job well-done. Time to nap....

... But if you do go searching, you know about [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho_eps, right? It has some old episodes, though I have no idea which ones because I can't seem to get interested in the old stuff. The cheesiness pretty much makes me want to cry. But - there's some old episodes there for download.

Oooh, coolness! I'll have to check the quality of the cheese. I was on the BBC site (procrastinating, natch) and they have all these old clips from the show, along with a ton of interviews with the new cast and crew. I came out with an intense desire to intern with them.
ext_41053: (fs; you have to love them)

Yeah, I've seen all the stuff on BBC. It impresses me that they have so much stuff on the official site, though my friends from England tell me I shouldn't be shocked, since this is DW. I guess they have a point, though, since you know the shows gonna be big if Parliament requests an advance showing of it. [which isn't faiiirrr. I'm tragically spoiled and need to see it. And I have a bad feeling I'll be downloading it on Christmas Day.]

Dude, Puddleglum! He's the best! You realize that the BBC Narnia stuff is now being added to my Netflix queue, don't you? Along with House, and many, many other things. Damnit.

BTW, your papers? Sound so much more interesting than mine. I had just about the most uninteresting thesis for my English paper that I've ever seen. It wasn't pretty. And now I get to write about ice dance and how the movement is different, and then about the performance of American Ballet Theater that our class saw and talk about lighting. I'd much rather geek about the Incredibles.

[identity profile] inmyriadbits.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and we will be watching Narnia despite the fact that the girl playing Lucy makes me want to throw things at her (or kick her in the head, to borrow a phrase from RayK). And then we can go see the movie that's out to feel better about that, because the Lucy in *that* is gloriously good. Plus, Peter is hot (and our age, so I don't feel like a perv saying that).

Hmm, am I supposed to be apologetic here? I'm not feeling the guilt. Whoops. *eg*

LOL, you're channeling RayK. Ah, my dork girl, I miss thee.
