I am in love. LOVE, I tell you! I want to watch this episode again, right now.

In no particular order:
-Chloe. I love me some Chloe, and Chloe-centric eps make me so happy. (Just out of curiosity: any recs for said topic? I'm still a relative newbie.) I want her to learn Clark's secret. I mean, Pete knows, and 5 or 10 other people have figured it out over the years, so why not Chloe? After this episode, I'd say she'll be more cautious about the results of her articles. Clark just needs to trust her a little. Which brings me to...

-Lex. Oh, god, who else cried during that scene? And then later, when he tells Lionel, "It doesn't matter, I won't get it anyway." Watch your step:my heart is in shards all over the floor.... Even more fun is in store next week, it seems, with Clark in pain and more secrets in danger.

-Lana. I never thought I'd say this before last week, but she rocks. I hope she gets in that school, not in a bitter let's-get-rid-of-her way, but because she really does need a new start. Smallville is trapping her in this cycle of hurt with Clark, and people will always see her as a cheerleader, an orphan, the girlfriend of the late Whitney, a glorified waitress. Who knows, maybe she'll learn to stop wearing so much pink in Paris, fashion capital of the world ;)

-The Rift(TM). It hurts, but it's a beautifully acted pain, so I can take it. There's always fanfic for denial.

-"Of course I had them killed." *shudders* Lionel is scary. John Glover is awesome. That message on Chloe's voicemail... I am so worried for her. This season is gooooood. I need to stop using simple periodic sentences...

If the producers follow through on conflicts that this episode set up (reminded me of the Buffy musical in that way), this season will be amazing. They've done well so far, and my fingers are crossed with high hopes. I mean, if they can develop Lana, they can do anything!!!

ETA: Is is just me, or has Lex been using more tactile affection recently? While talking to Lana and Chloe in the past two episodes, he's gotten very close and even took Chloe by the arms. I didn't notice anything with Clark, but I wonder... Is he simply closer to them than before by acting as a confidant, and feels he can do so? Or does he just need to get laid? *g*

*blinks* Wait. Wait. Lana rocks? When did this happen? Why did I miss it? How did.... Dear God, I feel almost speechless. Lana has become tolerable? And developed?

Neep?

*g* It's a very recent development. She been inching that way all season (probably because of Adam), but major changes occurred in the past 3ish eps.

First, there was good acting in scenes with Michael Rosenbaum, then she told Clark that she was done with getting her heart broken, and she was sick of waiting around in Smallville for a guy she wasn't even sure was right for her. Then she applied to the Paris School of Arts, which has a program for high school students. (Her artsy-ness is apparently comic canon, though never seen in the show.) She finally told Clark after applying because she knew his brain-numbing hotness would try to change her mind and keep her in smalltown purgatory, friendless and stereotyped.

(I may have read into some of this a little. Quite a bit, really. Go read Television Without Pity (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com) for completeness.)

Wow. I'll have to watch the reruns.

Oh, good, they are putting in that she's good at art. I'vewanted them to since the beginning, but I finally decided they never would considering how unlike her comic counterpart she was.

Pfft. Clark is not hot. Lex is hot. Clark is just bland, in both looks and personality.

Oh, are you knowledgeable in the comics canon? I need some Lois information for a plotbunny that's scratching at my brain... (Bunnies have shockingly sharp nails. Huh.)

Lex is sexy. Clark is hot, in an adorable way.

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-04-21 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I know a fair amount, I suppose. My little brother is a huge fan and I started reading his comics after I began to watch Smallville.

*blink* Yes, Lex is sexy. Clark is not hot, though. He's just... I don't know, not the sort of person I would find attractive in either looks or personality. I've never even thought of him as hot once. *blinks* Why do you think he's hot?

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-04-25 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Have Lois' parents ever been mentioned in canon?

Well, the gorgeous body, eyes, and lips don't hurt, but he's also just a little bit nerdy and otherwise adorable. He's often stupid with emotions, but he's also a teenager; he's shown improvement over the last season, and he always means well. Plus, we know he turns out okay in the end ;)

I prefer Lex because I have a soft spot for the ambiguous fellas, and... the way he walks. Self-confident and fucking gorgeous.

Yep. Her mother is Ella Lane and her father is Samuel Lane, but he's dead. And she has two sisters, I think- an older and a younger.

*blinks* No, I still don't see it. I honestly don't think he's cute. I'll stick to Christopher Gorham for the nerdy cuteness, thank you very much.

Yes! Those are basically the reasons I love Lex, although I like his general personality. Plus his voice is completely sexy.

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm.... Will have to play with the bunny, then. Induce some genetic mutations, or something ;)

EEE! Chris Gorham is utterly adorable! Why do all the dorky guys get canceled? *pouts*

Dude, the voice. How could I forget that? He does the Flash on Justice League, and he's wonderful. (Carl Lumbly is J'onn J'onzz on that as well--fabulous voice work...)

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Have fun, then. ;)

Yes, he is adorable. And they get cancelled so sooner or later someone like us can write a TV show and produce it, insisting the dorky guys get to be cast?

The voice is brilliant. Yes. *nods* And I'll take your word for the whole Justice League thing, since I tend not to go with the whole superhero bit unless it involves X-Men or cute guys. *cough LeagueofExtraordinaryGentlemanmovie cough*

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Amen to that wish, sistah! It will happen eventually. One day, our dorky knights will come...

Oh, I'm a sucker for superheroes, and it's not just the tights. They're all so strange and noble at the same time. I'm particularly fond of Batman on the cartoon-- much better than the movies, which were my only previous exposure to him *shudder* Now I want to track down some comics. In my spare time, of course ;)

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
They better, and they better get here soon. I'm getting bored of waiting.

*laughs* Oddly, I haven't seen either the cartoon or the movies with Batman. Unless... Wait, I think Alicia Silverstone was in a movie, maybe. But I got bored with it and wandered away to read. Shocking, right?

[identity profile] thespatz.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
*g* Impatient, are we?

*wince* God, yes. I mean, no. I have blocked that memory from my brain. That movie never existed, and never will exist, and ohmygodSchwartzenaggercannotact.

[identity profile] jrose.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweetie, I bypassed impatient months ago. Now I'm in full-fledged 'get here now, you stupid male' mode. It's fun.

*snickers* Oh, was Schwartzenagger in it? I just remember Alicia Silverstone, probably because she was my favourite actress at the time.

have bugged jimmy into getting an lj so that I don't have to have ugly anonymous comments filling up my comment-bin (or whatnot).

Point is -- I'm pretty sure that there is a feature on LJ that can block certain users (why, I have no idea, because if one isn't signed in, how well does it work?). It's either up or in beta.

Oy. Ah, well, I'll get over it. Hopefully he'll keep his word, and I won't have to do anything. Pffft.

You have your moments ;)
