i wish the real world would just stop hassling me

So, [personal profile] inmyriadbits managed to give herself a mild concussion this weekend! She is restricted from watching TV, reading, or computers until she’s feeling better. However, the doctor said audio stuff was fine, so if anyone has any podfic or audio fandom recs, I’d appreciate them! We’re already fans of Welcome to Night Vale, and I’ve got Cabin Pressure on the list, plus the Rivers of London audiobooks.

Ouch, poor her! I hope she's feeling better soon. I don't have a lot of recs, but I did enjoy listening to the audio versions of the Vorkosigan series for comfort-listening. And I have a secondhand rec for the Dr Who audio dramas - I've only listened to one so far, but apparently the whole arc that starts with Storm Warning is good. Plus, Paul McGann :-).

Man, that sucks!

But the Thrilling Adventure Hour should make it better! It's styled as an old-time variety hour and is made up of several continuing segments, one of which (Beyond Belief) is basically "if Nick and Nora Charles were unwilling mediums." SO GREAT. The other segments are fabulous, too, particularly Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars (corny western on Mars with a heavy, heavy, heavy dose of genre-awareness and irony), and I also quite enjoy Down in Moonshine Holler and Amelia Earhart: Fearless Flyer.

It's available for free on iTunes and Nerdist. They've done a lot of episodes, so there's plenty there!
