inmyriadbits and I have been catching up on Nikita finally. We were supposed to finish off the last season tonight, but Linds wussed out at midnight because, idk, she has to work at normal people hours tomorrow, or something. Pfft. :P

So if Alex is Batman, and Sonya is Robin, that means Birkhoff is Oracle, right? (All I really want from life now is Sonya making him dress up in yellow high heeled boots and spandex, now. I mean, he did canonically dress up as metal bikini Leia that time....)

Also, Ryan is obviously The Question. WALL OF CRAZY AND CONSPIRACY. THE TRUE PURPOSE OF AGLETS IS SINISTER.

I'm kind of shipping Alex/Sam now, tbh. They certainly have ridiculous chemistry, even though I want Sam to be more Owen again. :(

If this show does not end with Michael and Nikita getting married on a beach somewhere, I WILL BE UPSET. *bites nails*

Heh, yeah, their plans never go according to plan. Like Michael's proposal. But METAPHORICALLY they better get married on a beach with the whole spy family there. If it happens to be, idk, while having a shootout with Amanda with the not-actually-dead president officiating or whatever, that's okay by me :)

Without spoiling anything specific, I can just say that Nikita had one of the most satisfying series finales I've ever seen. I'm going to cherish my memories of this show forever.

I agree with this! I am so sad the show had to end, but it got an excellent ending. ♥

It sooooo did! I'm reminded of Life and Sports Night and ATLA, where I just look back on the show and while I'm sad there's not more, what's there is a perfect little narrative nugget of awesomeness.

Makes for excellent rewatching :D

I was about to ask if Maggie Q's MI character died in the... the other MI movie, whichever one she was in (I can't even remember which one it was, because MI4 is the only one I care about), but then I realized that it doesn't matter because obviously if she was a secret agent from one secret agency infiltrating another secret agency she could totally have faked her death. Same actor, same character rule of crossovers ALWAYS applies with spies and assassins.

She did not die in MI3! I think she got shot and wounded -- but she also got to flirt with Jonathan Rhys-Meyer and wear a scandalous dress to the Vatican, so it balances out.

They could also be secret twins! It's a sadly neglected trope. ;)

Mostly because Nikita already did the secret twins thing with Amanda and look how THAT turned out, and everything Nikita does has to be a light-against-dark inversion of everything Amanda does.

That was extremely goddamn satisfying. Alex being powerful and inspiring and awesome and so grownup! (her little chat with Sam on the plane about how she wasn't going to be his unhealthy relationship love object was *so amazeballs*) Nikita and Michael taking down Ecuadorian bad guys on their honeymoon! Birkhoff and Sonya living hackily ever after! ♥ ♥ ♥

I was so sad for Ryan! But he was super-heroic, and stuck it to Amanda with his last breath, which was very fitting.

Alex was wonderful. I love that in the end, everything came down to Nikita and Alex and their bond and their trust in each other. It began with them, so of course it had to end with them.
