POI 2x20 In Extremis

Okay, so things like this promo pic set make me think that they originally were planning to have another episode in the season, and last minute had to cram this number in with the Fusco plot. Like, seriously:
1) the attempt to thematically string the two together was pathetic
2) they set up three red herring bad guys in the acceptance speech opening and yet only followed up on one
3) apparently cut an entire action sequence based the above promo pics (I think the guy in the first pic is the guy who ran the drug trial? not sure) in a location we never otherwise saw
4) *painful* levels of stupid from a show that is normally fairly smart

Also, maybe I've just been watching too much Leverage, but that final scene with the stock market CEO guy felt like a setup to make the guy confess, not an outright murder. Because if they really wanted to murder him, they wouldn't tell him immediately after poisoning for something that can be treated in the first hour. I mean, John did actually do this for a living at one point; he'd know that.

IDK, my re-editing clusterfuck senses are just tingling harder than they have since I watched The Amazing Spider-Man.

Okay, your idea makes that head-scratcher of an episode make a LOT more sense! I kept going, wait, why have all these obvious lines of inquiry to lead directly to the cause? No twists at all? That's all they get for interaction? THAT is the reason? THAT is your solution? WTF? What happened to that other scene? Huh? I'm missing something or they just did a huge toe-stub trip over themselves in this one...

So, I'm going to think you are correct so that I can be less annoyed by the whole thing!
