Oh, wow. Alias is back to being REALLY evil again. I can't believe that I actually missed these cliffhangers- must have been temporary dementia...
This episode should have been called The One Where Syd Changes Clothes A Lot.
How wonderful was Jack this episode? "I used to think you didn't have much of a spine." *giggle* And he smiled! This is always a momentuous occasion. I love Jack beyond words this season. Such. A. Badass.
Lauren's growing on me as well. Syd will undoubtedly instruct her in the ways of rule-breaking throughout the season, heh. She deserved that punch, though.
What is Sloane up to, hmmm?
They have been edging up the gross factor on the show this season. First we got the plastic tube in the scar, then the rotting hand, then the bloody cake/hand. And Syd's been killing a lot more people this season. More realistic with the killing, but the rest is like the repeated shots of Sloane shirtless-- reeeeally not needed that much. Cut down the shock gross-out shots, JJ, please.
Heeeeeeeee! Marshall and Weiss! Playing cards! And they threw in the Rambaldi clock just to be random! Wheeee!
Okay, looked up St. Aidan. He was apparently an Irish monk from Iona who worked in the first half of the 7th century to bring Christianity to Northumbria (Northern England). He was based on Lindisfarne (meaning unknown), also know as Holy Island, which is an island off the coast near Scotland that can only be accessed via causeway at low tide. He was apparently a pretty nice guy; the best story tells of how he was given a horse by the king, and gave it away to a beggar. He doesn't seem to be patron of anything. His name means 'fire.' There are about a billion St. Aidan's churches, etc., and I have no idea how this fits in to Alias. Unless JJ's trying to give us a hint about Sark's first name, since I've heard that guessed before ;)
