POI rewatch note
So I was re-watching 2x03 Masquerade, which I love for a lot of reasons -- gleefully competent pickpocketing! Sofia! John feeding someone, confessing his feelings about Finch secondhand, and calling New York his home! Harold making friends with Bear! and let's not forget that hilarious and terrifying grin that John makes while dangling Jack from the balcony -- but this time around, I noticed that Finch is apparently cold-reading untranslated Portuguese while briefing Reese, judging by the computer screen:
Have we seen any other times that Finch did something like this? I'm blanking on him even speaking another language at any point. I mean, unless you count programming languages, in which case he's definitely a polyglot. *g* Reese, on the other hand, has spoken Spanish (badly) and Russian (can't tell); he clearly *didn't* understand Chinese in Matsya Nyaya, but I'd be surprised if he didn't know some form of Arabic, at least basic phrases.
